Brindle Creek Sanctuary and trip

It was a sad day to leave Brindle Creek Sanctuary after working there for the past couple of months. I made so many friends with the wallabies and kangaroos that I became really attached to a lot of them. I will especially miss having Poppy and Wilson follow me around throughout the day and giving them cuddles. All of the animals put a smile on my face everyday- I love them all :)
This sanctuary is truly an incredible place. They do so much to help rehabilitate and save these animals. I will miss being there very much, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
Please check out their Facebook group page at "Brindle Creek Sanct" and if you want you can give them a donation :)

After my experience there I flew over to Brisbane. I'm currently on a campervan trip and I'm seeing some very cool sites so far - Collangatta, Cabarita Beach, South Golden Beach, Byron Bay, Ballina and next stop Yamba!
So far all I can say is... Australia you are beautiful!

Saving Lives

Yesterday was a very sad day at the sanctuary. A beautiful young kangaroo named Coco unfortunately had to be put down due to a severe infection from the wounds on her legs. The vets say it was probably a snake or monitor lizard that got to her. Even after much dedicated care and love, she still couldn't make it through.

All of us were heartbroken. We had a burial and ceremony for her. Rest in peace lovely Koko.

It amazes me how much of an impact animals have on humans. Even though I didn't know Koko for very long she reminded of how much love and compassion I have for animals. As humans I think we all have a connection with animals and nature in general.
Although it was a sad day it did remind me that a lot of kangaroos and wallabies have been saved and rehabilitated by these wonderful people. I'm very thankful and blessed to be helping nature's creatures at this sanctuary.

Be kind and compassionate to nature. We were meant to share the abundant natural resources of this earth not destroy everything. Our planet is so beautiful with so many amazing creatures that it needs to be cherished and cared for.

People need to seriously take part in helping the environment which will result in helping all living things. Everyone can do their part! Even the smallest thing like recycling a takeaway coffee cup, consciously buying environmentally friendly products, composting, using less water, turning off lights, using green energy or caring for a sick animal. Petitions and contacting your government to get their ass in gear can also help!  Don't we all want to live in a beautiful, peaceful world where we can breathe clean air and help the planet's amazing wildlife?
I'll stop the rant but I don't think we realize how majestic, beautiful and fragile our planet really is.

A new adventure

Off to a new adventure! After a great vacation in Queensland I'll be taking care of wallabies and kangaroos at a sanctuary near Mareeba. I think it will be quite a unique experience and I'm looking forward to helping wildlife. During my time off I'll be working on finishing my album and writing new songs. A time for new experiences, projects and reflection.

Nature of Australia

New scenes new dreams.
Serene Australian nature that can only be described as pure beauty.
It motivates me even more to be proactive in helping the environment. Conservation and an environmentally friendly world is a must in my books. We have one planet and one planet only. I'm going to make sure the beauty of our natural world is preserved, protected and remains beautiful until the end of time.

La Traviata at the Sydney Opera House

I saw La Traviata on Tuesday night at the Sydney Opera House. The singing was great, sets were amazing, orchestra played beautifully, it was quite the treat. Violetta was played by Lorina Gore, Alfredo was played by Rame Lahaj and conducted by Renato Palumbo. There is nothing like a live performance on stage feeling the energy of the performers and how it affects the audience. Of course Act III is heart breaking which was delivered with such conviction that the audience and myself were in tears.
I miss seeing operas and performing it. I need to get back involved in it. I'm so thrilled I was finally able to see an opera at the famous Sydney Opera House.

My bro's new company!

So my brother has started his own company called Vision FX.  All I can say is that it's pretty awesome, he's very talented and I'm super proud of him. It is a company that assists film-makers and video production companies to realize their creative vision through visual effects, 3D animation and digital compositing. He will be updated a demo reel soon!

Blue Mountains

I went to the Blue Mountains for a 2nd time. Checked out Katoomba again and then the next day Wentworth Falls. My favorite was taking the Charles Darwin Walk in Wentworth Falls. It is absolutely stunning! Initially the walk is a quite peaceful nature trail with a flowing river and some small waterfalls. Then Boom!!! This pops up!
All I can say is that the Blue Mountains is definitely worth seeing!! Not to mention it's a pretty good workout (walking steep steps right on the edge of cliffs). One of the best experiences so far in Australia!

Hello again, new video!!

Hello everyone!
I haven't written in my blog for a really really long time! First of all I find it a little difficult keeping up with posting things on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram etc. that I thought what is the point of blogging when there are all these other social media outlets? Long story short I'm going to try to write a bit more and post what I'm up to.
This post is about a live music video that I just released a few hours ago on Youtube. I think this one is pretty special because it's my very first video recorded performance of a cover song! I haven't done many covers unless I was busking or performing more cover gigs. I'm trying to focus more on my own original material. Also since I'm currently living in Australia I thought it would be cool to do a cover song from an Australian artist. When I heard this song for the first time I was thoroughly moved by it. When I saw and heard live acoustic performances of Sia singing this song I was like, "holy crap this is so powerful!!" That is when I decided I need to cover this song its so beautiful. So with the help of the awesome videographer Shawn Burgess, we filmed this video by the fountain in Hyde Park, Sydney. It was a little chilly hence the scarf and jacket but it was a pretty fun and unique experience. I hope you enjoy the video, here is the link :)
