Face your fears

It's funny how the mind can play tricks on us and sometimes make us crazy.  I'm relating this to the Leviathan roller coaster ride.  I have been on this ride a few times last season and this season I refused to go on it on my first few visits at Wonderland. I built things up in my head thinking that this ride was way too frightening and I was going to die haha. My excuse was that I didn't enjoy the ride. It turns out that I actually went on it 4 times yesterday and once in the front row. I even raised up my arms for a part of the ride, which never happens!   I did enjoy it quite a bit, and let's just say someone knew that I would.  So my lesson learned is that things are not as scary as they seem all the time.  Get out of your comfort zone and take a risk because it may be the best decision you ever make.  Booya!

Just say "Hi"

I've come to the realization once again that it is so important to keep in touch with the ones you care about and love.  Nowadays people have the opportunity to live all over the world and with the technology today it is possible to keep in contact with others.  If you want to talk with someone just talk with them.  Yes life does get busy sometimes but I have to remember to take the time to just say "hi' once in a while.

I just found out that one of my favorite jazz artists is going to be on tour, Brad Mehldau.  I saw him and his trio a few years ago and it was one of the best concerts I've been to.  He does really interesting covers of songs by Radiohead, and The Beatles to name a couple.  He also has his own compositions which are quite awesome.  Here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMKdsY8_8Yc  check out his stuff.

I can't believe how expensive jewelry is at high end stores! I mean don't get me wrong the jewelry at Tiffany's and Co. is absolutely gorgeous, however I would be afraid to wear some of that stuff, damage it and/or loose it.  I have never been in a Tiffany's before and going in there I pretending like I had money haha :P It was actually a pretty cool experience going there with my best friend.  Speaking of Tiffany's I think I may just watch Breakfast at Tiffany's with a nice cup of tea and just be plain girly!

Oh sweet Mondays

If anyone had the chance to view the night sky last night maybe you can feel the same bliss I did.  All I can say is wow I actually saw a meteor shower happening.  It wasn't like a crazy amount of meteors shooting around the sky all the time but once in a while you would see a beautiful stream of light.  I'm so glad I had the opportunity to see this with friends.

Speaking of friends, one of my best friends is coming to town today which I'm quite excited about. 

Although my heart is aching a little bit today.  Maybe I should write a song about it.

Lazing on a Sunday afternoon

Pretty exhausted today from a fun-filled day yesterday. Wonderland then a crazy birthday party for a good friend.   Apparently tonight is a good night to see a meteor shower? Hopefully it will be a clear night.  Space the final frontier.....

I feel pretty inspired to write music today, however I won't be by a piano for the whole day :P I guess I just have to keep that motivation going for tomorrow.  I'm in no particular mood right now, just pretty content.  Usually if I'm inspired to write a song I'm in some kind of mood and feeling some kind of strong emotion.  For examples my song "Poisonous Touch" is one that I felt complete rage while writing it haha.  Sometimes  its difficult to write when you are in such a state because the emotion almost takes over you at the moment.  Its a fine balance between writing what you want to write about and making it too crazy that it doesn't make sense.

Just starting this Blogger thing.  I don't have much to say right now but I just made these chocolate chip skor bit cookies.  They turned out alright but they all kind of glued together. I couldn't separate them enough in a pie plate pan because I still need to buy a real cookie sheet. I would probably recommend not putting too many fillers (chocolate chips) in a cookie because it doesn't have a nice balance with the dough.  I'm probably taking too much time analyzing this. Meh...
